3 sites in the same place

The national archaeological park Yaxhá-Nakum-Naranjo is considered to be the best kept secret of the mayan world.

The park is located in an are of 37,160 square kilometers and belongs to the Mayan Biosphere. This park is located close by to Tikal, the most recognizable site in Peten.

Because of the closeness between the 3 sites you can visit all the structures, ceremonial grounds and esteles, all in the same perimeter.

An experience under the stars

This archaeological site has a very distinctive feature, you can also stay inside the park grounds and do camping during the night.

Impressive Monuments

This site has over 500 structures, including 40 esteles, 13 altars, 9 pyramids, 2 fields of ball games, and a sacbeob (streets) net. This street system is very different, not every site had them marked down.

On the C plaza it’s located the only complex of twin pyramides (there are twin pyramids in Tikal as well) and this monuments were made to commemorate a period known as the Katun, which is a 20 year lapse.

The street system has a main roadway that was considered to be the main entrance of the city, it connects the central plaza with Yaxha lake.

This amazing place is located between Sacnab y Yaxha the name can be translated as the place of green-blue water.

Many monuments are the remainings of the palaces of the king and his family. So it’s one of the most interesting places to see because of the historical value they posses.
