The use of face masks is part of the set of prevention and control measures that have been taken for months to limit the spread of respiratory diseases caused by viruses, in particular COVID-19.

The use of masks also serve to protect healthy people from possible infections, when traveling don’t forget to take into account these recommendations:

Types of mask allowed

In the airports of Guatemala as well as in many countries, the only masks allowed are the certified KN95 and N95. Something that you should take into account is that masks that contain respiratory valves will not be accepted and travelers wearing this type of protection will NOT be allowed to enter the air terminals.

Correct handling when using it

You should always wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before putting your mask on, in addition to making sure to accommodate it so that there are no spaces between your face and the mask. You should also consider that the mask should cover your nose and mouth completely.

Benefits during the trip

The use of a face mask is one of the safest ways to protect yourself against the transmission of viruses when traveling. For this reason, it is necessary that you use it correctly and that you do not remove it while you carry out your migratory procedures or while you are inside a plane.

Another recommendation is that you discard the mask that you used when you arrive at your destination, to prevent dirt or bacteria from accumulating on the mask.

How to discard it

There are several recommendations when disposing of a face mask that you have already used, first it is important that you throw it in a well-sealed individual bag. It is also suggested that you label the bag so that it is known that this mask is no longer suitable for use. Another thing you can do is cut the mask off before throwing it away, to ensure that no one else uses it by mistake.

At TAG we take care of you

When we reactivate our operations, we want to give you the safest service in the Guatemalan market. Therefore, as part of our Biosafety protocols, in TAG it is mandatory that you change your mask for a new KN95 certified one at our counter before boarding your flight. The mask will be given to everyone. This is a regulation for all passengers.
