Requirements for passengers traveling to Roatán, Honduras

Travel to Roatan

19 Oct 2020

The island of Roatán has become one of the main destinations for lovers of warm climates and white sand beaches. The kindness of its people and the multiculturalism that is appreciated throughout the island, makes this experience one of the most rewarding, regardless of whether you travel with family or friends.

We want your travel experience to be one of the most satisfactory and therefore we invite you to know all the requirements that are necessary during  your trip as part of the Biosafety protocols:

When leaving Guatemala

If your final destination is Roatán or some other city within Honduras, you must take into account that it is necessary to present the form stipulated by the Honduran immigration department, which you can fill out HERE.

It is also necessary that you take the PCR / Antigen test and present the negative result issued on a maximum of 72 hours before your trip.

If you are a citizen or resident in Guatemala, you can only travel with your personal identification document (DPI) if you are of legal age or with your valid passport.

Sanitization in transportation devices

When you arrive at the airport, you can drive yourself to the hotel of your choice, or have an ALL INCLUSIVE package to arrive more comfortably at your holiday accommodation.

All of these buses and vans are disinfected on a regular basis after each use, several times throughout the day. The staff also uses protective equipment (face mask, face shield) to avoid direct contact with travelers.

Protocols upon arrival at your hotel

When you reach your hotel you will find hand sanitizer stations and sanitizing mats for footwear, as well as luggage disinfection stations installed in several areas. The temperature check up is mandatory for all guests without exception.

The registration process will be done in a non-contact manner, if possible, to ensure the health of the guests.

All rooms are sanitized with steam processes and UV light, to eliminate all the bacteria that may exist.

During your stay

We want you to enjoy everything that the island of Roatán has to offer, so there are a variety of tours that you can enjoy, such as the island route, a full day in the Gumbalimba ecological park and the famous experience with Dolphins.

All these tours adhere to the health regulations and protocols to take care of the travelers and staff of each of these locations.

Before traveling back

If your time of stay extends more than 2 days, you must perform the PCR / Antigen test and present the negative result issued no later than 72 hours before your return trip to Guatemala. In the different hotels they offer services of sampling and delivery of results, without having to leave the facilities. These services have an approximate cost of $.80.00 USD per person.

You must also present the form stipulated by the Guatemalan immigration department, which you can fill out HERE.

We hope you enjoy everything that this Caribbean paradise in Central America has to offer.
