Belize is a destination known for its incredible beaches and coral reefs that can be explored most of the year.

To make your vacation even more memorable, we give you 5 recommendations of places where you can live unique experiences:

Billy Barquedier National Park

Located 25 kilometers away from the capital of Belize, this park was declared a protected area in 2001.

The park has several activities, as well as an attractive hiking route that leads to the main attraction of this site: The Barquedier waterfall, this waterfall also provides water services to three neighboring communities in that location.

This site is also one of the favorites for bird watching in this country.

Cockscomb Basin Sanctuary

This nature reserve is one of the most important ones in Belize. The preservation of the jaguars that inhabit this place and their study is one of the fundamental reasons for the founding of the sanctuary.

You can also enjoy tubing along the river, enjoying amazing sights of the local flora and fauna. You can cool off in the waterfall that is also inside the natural reservation.

Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve

We cannot exclude activities such as snorkeling or swimming with whale sharks. You can do both activities with the help of experts in this reserve.

If you want to see sharks, it is recommended that you look for the days closest to a full moon.

From the city of Palencia, the reserve is 1 hour and a half away by boat. This is one of the experiences that travelers enjoy the most and that leaves them with great and incredible memories.

Horseback Riding and Exploration of Xunantunich

In the city of San Ignacio in the Cayo district, you can enjoy a different tour with panoramic views of this incredible town.

During a 3-hour horseback ride, you can visit the famous Xunantunich ruins, one of the famous sites in this country, ending with a hike up El Castillo hill.

Rio Blanco (White river) National Park

The Mayan indigenous communities around the towns of San Elena and Santa Cruz coordinated and formed the Mayan Río Blanco Association, which currently manages the park.

Besides being an amazing place to visit, it is also a way to support sustainable tourism in that area.

The nature trails and the variety of species that inhabit the area make this experience unforgettable.
