The history of our country is represented in each of the rooms of this museum. From Mayan archaeological pieces, to the Renaissance and the era of Guatemalan art and Baroque architecture.
Since its opening in 1977 thanks to the donation of Mr. and Mrs. Jorge and Ella Castillo from their personal collection. This was considered one of the most complete collections of historical pieces from that time.
Over the years the number of pieces has increased thanks to donations from private individuals and from both public and private companies.
